Mont Ventoux: a journey between Italy and France, riding legendary roads all the way to the summit of the Giant of Provence.
The journey is about to begin!
The first stage of our tour starts in Cuneo and takes us across the Alps through breathtaking mountain scenery.
Riding up the Stura Valley, we’ll pass through charming villages such as Demonte and Vinadio, before crossing the border into France via the legendary Colle della Maddalena.
From here, a spectacular descent will take us into the beautiful Ubaye Valley and on to Barcelonnette, a charming mountain town surrounded by green pastures and majestic Alpine peaks.
Just a few kilometres away, one final climb awaits us: the road up to the ski resort of Pra Loup, our last challenge of the day.
Leaving Pra Loup, we’ll head west, descending through beautiful Alpine valleys towards the shores of the majestic Lac de Serre-Ponçon, one of the largest artificial lakes in Europe.
The tour continues along the lakeside, offering the perfect combination of spectacular natural scenery and smooth, flowing roads that make every kilometre a pleasure to ride.
Our arrival in Sisteron marks the end of an exciting day in the saddle, surrounded by panoramic roads and some of the region’s most impressive natural landscapes.
Leaving Sisteron, we’ll ride through the beautiful Provençal countryside, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, along quiet and scenic roads.
Gentle climbs, vibrant colours, and the unmistakable scents of Provence will make today’s ride smooth and enjoyable.
As we approach Malaucène, the final part of the route begins to climb gently towards Mont Ventoux — the perfect way to prepare our legs for the big challenge awaiting us the following day.
Today is dedicated to one of the most legendary climbs in cycling: Mont Ventoux.
After riding towards Bédoin, the real challenge begins: 21.8 km of pure climbing, with 1,610 metres of elevation gain and demanding gradients all the way to the summit.
An epic experience following in the footsteps of cycling legends such as Merckx, Pantani, and Froome, surrounded by spectacular views and the iconic lunar landscape of Mont Ventoux.
The effort of the climb will be rewarded by the incredible feeling of conquering one of the most iconic summits in Tour de France history.
The final stage of our tour winds through the gentle rolling hills of Provence.
A scenic road will take us to Carpentras, a town rich in history and tradition, where we’ll enjoy a short stop to discover its medieval centre and local specialities.
One last ride through the colours and scents of this authentic land before heading back to Cuneo, taking home unforgettable memories of an extraordinary cycling journey between Italy and France.
